The Big Fish Story: After a brutal cold spell, the vail of winter had lifted. Allowing me a chance to try out some of the new tackle "The Old Fat Man" (Santa) delivered. I mounted Berkley rod holders on Both of my water transports. After a couple of false starts to the water, only to find my favortie fishing holes frozen over. (what a bummer)I had been on 2 previous trips with nothing to show for my efforts, except a sore shoulder & a wet butt. We launched a full on assalt in Lake Chickamauga at high noon. The sun was ablaze, temps soared to 60+ it felt like a day on the beach, compared to the recent cold. I baited up with 3" minnows from my new tub of Berkley "GULP ALIVE". The wind was light, so I trolled, using the mirage drive on my Hobie. The the rods postioned in their new holders, peddling slowly around a couple of sunny points. On the 2nd pass,...WHAM!! FISH ON!. The fish pulled hard & tighten up the line with a resounding zing! I landed it after a couple of fantastic jumps and a few violet head shakes. The jig was barely in, as I lipped the 18 incher at the side of my kayak. I hoisted it high to show Kathy & Debo paddling near by. After CPR I went right back to trolling those "KILLER" GULP ALIVE Minners. Take care, Tight lines & FISH ON!
